I am a dementia specialist gone christian business breakthrough coach

I would love to walk you through my journey of how I went from hardship, failure, and struggle to owning a life changing company.

I have always had a passion for caring for the elderly, specifically those with dementia. I have health difficulties myself, and it's nice to be around a generation that is slow paced like me. Throughout high school and college I was a nursing home volunteer, intern, live-in caregiver, and activities assistant for a memory care facility.

I dreamed of joining the Air Force, and later on opening a foundation for the elderly. Little did I know God had bigger plans for my life. Because of my health (autoimmune stuff), I was not able to join the Air Force, so I took a full ride scholarship to a University to study social work.

During my internships, work, and volunteering, I noticed that many caregivers don’t treat those with dementia like people... Caregivers are just working with the knowledge or experience they have, but they are not dementia educated. That's when I decided I wanted to change the world of caregiving. I started an additional program to become a dementia caregiving specialist. There is so much you need to know in order to make caregiving easier and better for those with dementia. Families are often left with just the disease diagnosis and no instruction manual. I wanted to create one for them.

Here's my story!

My mission is to educate caregivers on how to properly care for those with dementia to reduce stress on the caregiver and provide a better life for those with dementia. I wanted to create a course that was caregiver to caregiver. Something easy to understand and digest. No more doctors terms and questions gone unanswered.

I was going to be a speaker, a traveling expert, a teacher. I was going to go nursing home to nursing home educating and making a huge impact. Unfortunately in 2019, my health rapidly declined. I was having flare ups daily, in and out of the doctors and hospitals. Little did I know again, God had bigger plans for my life.

I have UC (ulcerative colitis) and extreme IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). Due to this, I am classified as disabled. I have had these problems affect me every couple weeks or months since I was 10. They are debilitating in ways I wish were "easy" to explain. In 2019 was the peek of the pain. I was having flare ups daily. I was panicked. I had a degree, and I was so excited to become great, but my health wouldn't allow me to leave my house.

That's when God spoke to me. He told me to start an online caregiving community to help caregivers understand dementia through online courses.  Little did I know this was God's purpose for my life.

After creating this online school and community...I fell in love with entrepreneurship. I fell in love with creating a global impact, getting paid despite my inability to "work", traveling whenever I wanted, and changing lives.

In 2020, I had to share my marketing expertise with the world. I decided to start a business mentorship business helping women ditch the inconsistent sales months and create a business they love too.

I manage both businesses and am so blessed to be on this journey. My goals are to continue to serve christian entrepreneurs and my caregiving community. Dementia Care Advocates is starting to create amazing outreach programs and Always Advocating continues to help women pursue entrepreneurship full time. Thank you so much for your support!
